MARCH LUNCHEON – JUDGE GORDON FRIESZ

Judge Gordon Friesz has presided over the 317th District Court in Jefferson County since January of 2023.  He is unopposed in the 2026 election and will begin his second term in January of 2027.  Prior to taking the bench he served Jefferson County children and families as a teacher, coach, attorney and volunteer.  In his time on the bench, Judge Friesz has implemented programs to increase court efficiency, improve access to justice for unrepresented and indigent litigants, and taken over the entire juvenile criminal docket for Jefferson County. He has had the honor of working with Joe Evans to provide solutions and rehabilitative opportunities for juvenile offenders. During his first term, Judge Friesz has had the honor of making multiple presentations to judges across the State of Texas about innovative programs in his court.  Outside of court, Gordon has been married to his wife, Shelley for 30 years and they have two wonderful adult children and the cutest granddaughter in the world.
